How would I wire a Brahma

Im completely retarded in Ohms and stuff so Im wondering If somebody could tell me exactly how to wire a single Brahma to my Visonik 1000 watt amp. I could swear the amp said stable to 1ohm but maybe two. Then thezeb.com says it is a 4ohm amp. I know its not a hugely common amp but could somebody tell me how I would wire it or if there is a site out there that will help me understand it more. or even older posts. Thanks alot

assuming you have the visonik v600hc (should be the one your talking about) you could just parallel the coils in the brahma to make the sub 1 ohm, then bridge the amp to get 1000w at 1 ohm

the site is correct in a sense, its the load on the amp that determines the ohm. ohm is basically your impedance, or resistance to electrical flow on the circuit. the less ohms, the less impedance, thus more flow.

for example, this amp runs:

2 x 150W Rms @ 4 Ohm Stereo

2 x 275W Rms @ 2 Ohm Stereo

2 x 400W Rms @ 1 Ohm Stereo

2 x 500W Rms @ ½ Ohm Stereo

1 x 1000W Rms @ 1 Ohm Bridged

as you can see, the wattage increases as the ohm drops. now, to hook it up. the pic is bad (my drawrin is terrible with a mouse :p) but you connect a wire from the + of one channel and the - of the other. this bridges the amp. now,to make the sub parallel, you must run the +/- wire that you just hooked up and and put the + on one terminal, and the - on the other. now, on the other side of the sub, youll see another set of terminals. get another wire, and run the + to both + terminals, then the same with the - wire. this is shown with the light blue lines. slap this baby in a box, and your all set //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ps-it doesnt matter which side you run the wire to the amp, it can be either. just make sure the brahma bull is upright, and then whichever terminal is closest to the wall.

Hope that helps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Thanks alot for explaining but the amp I have is the Visonik v4208 which is a 4 channel and I know how two bridge the 4 channels into two channels because that is how I have it now with my two subs. But how will I bridge it into 1 channel from 4 channels because I will only have the one sub running off of it. thanks for the help.

hmmm, an ab amp. that makes things trickier. it runs:

4 x 125W Rms

4 x 250W Max

really, it would be best to use this amp for components unstead of subs. you can bridge the four channels (2 pos from to channels, 2 neg from the other 2, then just get 2 splitters and join the 2 pos and 2 neg together to form one wire) but i wouldnt. ab amps arent really meant for bridging, and doing so might hurt amp and/or sub.

look into the v600hc, or, what i got, which is the v900hc. 2 x 1500w at 1ohm, or if your sticking with just one brahma you can bridge this bad boy 3200w at 1ohm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

plan on gettin 1 or 2 extra batteries and a big altenator if you run that high though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

and yes, the brahma can take it. easy.

So basically If I want to run the brahma with that amp I will be looking at only giving it 500 watts max. Thats not good. also people tell me that visonik rates their watts in RMS and others tell me that is Max does anybody know for sure. thanks
