Based upon my personal experiences that was quite true. There was this one girl i was going out with in high school. i used to spend a lot of time with her which drove her away. after highschool we started talking again but at that time i was also talking to about 3 other girls not including her. so I would only call her once in a while or i even told her about some of the other girls which in turn made her jelous and it seemed like she was a lot more interested in me than she was before.

No, not all adults are mature, however, maturity doesn't necessarily equate to being exempt from the Ladder Theory. Age plays more of a role due to a necessary change in priorities. You can be as mature at 18 as a 40 year old. That doesn't mean you know responsibility when you're 18. Yes, not that many 40 year olds know it then either, but whatever. Nitpicking bastard.
