Come on a 150 is loud for beginner. Like if u let some kid that has 1 kicker 12 hear a 150db system he's gumna be like **** that's loud. If u let someone who has had a 150db system for acouple years they will be like it's ok.
I agree //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif great answerDoubt you will be at 155 with just changing the power. I have competed for years and have seen people only gain .3 by doubling power. Once you get to a certain Mark it gets harder and harder. If you could just dump more power to get loud everybody would be loud
Yes but u weren't going from 50-55 u prly went from 45-50.. There's a huge difference there.I gained 5 going from 2 DC lvl 4s on 2500 to 2 XLm2s on 5000. Same enclosure.
True but I only doubled power he is doubling plus another 50%Yes but u weren't going from 50-55 u prly went from 45-50.. There's a huge difference there.
Thank you for the thought out responseFor every action there is a greater or equal reaction, adding more power should add more excursion at or around your peak, where excursion is limited by the enclosure alignment , increasing output (SPL) , but only if your enclosure is up to par , we traditionally add port volume to compensate for the added volume displacement requirement to keep port compression down , but by doing this it narrows useable bandwidth. You also have to take into account thermal compression, voltage drop ,impedance rise, etc.
This game is like chess not checkers you need to be 3 steps ahead not 1, the objective ought to be getting as loud as possible with the best bandwidth with the least amount of power, instead of trying to muscle your way up the db scale with just adding power
I'm working on my doors right now and trying to decide if I'm going to get the 7500 or just go with the 12k. Like I said earlier, I have the electrical to support 12k, but I'm running 5k to my doors so that'll be 17k total if I do go with 12k for the subsSo when you dropping in that 7500?
5k to your doors? Man..........Thank you for the thought out response
