how to wire??

I have a JBL 300.1 amp that puts out 150x1 at 4 ohms and 300x1 at 2 ohms. This is a mono amp but has two inputs meaning that it's basically always bridged. Is there any way i could wire my two JLw0 single VC 8 ohm subs to get the full 300 watts out of my amp?? I'm pretty sure that the lowest load i can reach is 4 ohms meaning that each sub is only gettin 75 watts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Am i right in thinkin this or can i get more power??

Most you can get dual svc 8 to is 4 ohm, so 75w per sub. It's time for a new amp, sorry.

no no....This jbl 300.1 is an amp only for subs... you can amp front speakers but it usually calls for a multi-channel amp with HPF or APF instead of a low pass filter... right?

actually, yes you could do it.

but you would have no stereo sound, it would all sound the same, and the fade left\right\ would not work. but you COULD do it. i would DEFINTALY tell you not to - but it sure as hell is possible.

honestly, get a new sub. get a nice DVC4 sub - wire it to 2ohms, and have fun with 300w. those amps are champs (and underrated IIRC). its a piece of quality stuff from a while back. look around- might even be stable at 1ohm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

I know, i hate to lose use of that amp because it's never been pushed to it's full power and i've heard nothin but good things about it for how cheap they are. I'm in the process of searchin for two new subs...a truck show/audio competion is comin to town in july so i'm waitin to steal a deal there...and ohh yeah it is stable at 1 ohm, i actually did some searchin and y'all have an awesome site!

Just go with a single sub, a SoundSplinter RL-I 10(d4) or an Image Dynamics IDQ 10 or 12 (d4 or if you are adventerious, d2). If you use two subs, you'll probably pay more and you'll still have shared power.

edit: To get to 1 ohm, two RE RE 10's or 12's might be up your alley.
