OK this is in a dimond audio 10" sub, I need an enclosure for my 2004 accord coupe, I need the sound to be more like a home audio sub, not very very precise but that fills the car and flows with the music, not ovepower it. Just a nice sound that will not create a lot of vibrations....

What to do ? Sealed, ported , bandpass... and what size and how? say .75cf sealed and 1cf ported.

Thanx!

Well you can't achieve the sound of a HT sub in the car due to the environment. So explain what type of sound you wish to have. What you described in your post is called SQ. And every car should blend with the music. If it is not it is set up wrong.

Isnt that what he did?? he wants it to sound like a home theater sub. So tell him what you think would sound the most like that its really pretty simple. He doesnt want anything loud just a nice boost in lower hz. Or am I way out of line here to beable to understand what he wants?

Nice post D!CK. You can't achieve the sound of a HT sub in car. All he said is blending with the music. Every car should do this. Any box can achive this sealed or ported...

I don't know what everyone else's system sounds like, but I'm guessing like crap.

Sorry not a very good day and i felt like venting. Didnt mean to flame you. I was just putting in from my oppinion a ported box has more of that feel and tuning low it will still have great SQ.

So am I getting this right? ported will sound "nicer" than sealed or what? will it fill more the cabin? I dont want it louder I just need a little bit more presence

As long as you tune it low. I normally stay around 29hz. I actually prefer the sound of a ported box over a sealed box on most subs.

Most sealed boxes I have used lack low end extension. Lower frequencies seem missing. Most bass coming from my vehicle can not be heard far away. But you can feel it:) I prefer this over a box with a peak in the frequency range causing it to have more output but at the sacrifice of SQ...

Well this is a diamond audio 10 sub, how do you think it will behave? D3 btw, I have the option of the following subs too:

JL audio 12w3v2

JL audio 8w7v2

Any recommendations?
