why is there smoke?
Im trying to take out the stock bose premium sound system out of a 2006 trail blazer lt its my first time swaping out a head unit and I was wondering how the hell do you remove the ground wire?

Do you just cut it? it has a metal casing at the end like a perfect circle thing that goes into the head unit. My new head unit is a pioneer and it has what looks like a plug for the metal thing that goes to the stock head units ground

bassically im just asking how you take the ground wire out of a stock head unit and put it into the new one.

Alright stupid thread I just had to pull harder but now that I took the ground out of the stock stereo the ground that came with it wont fit the new one the stock thing is to small to fit in the hole( thats what she said) any ideas?

cut the ring off and use a butt connector to put the 2 ground wires together.
There isnt two ground wires. Well there is a very small probably 16 gauge ground wire that is on the wiring harness and then I think there is supposed to be a what looks to be to be 12 gage ground that should go on the bottom left of the back of the radio it is a 1 prong connect and it is the same wire that went to the stock one is what im saying

Yeah thanks for the advice guys it ended up being the antenna wire no idea why I didnt think of that. Swaping this out with the bose factory system is a nightmare. and the option cost something like 2-3k extra what a joke.
