How to take off dust cap?

I have a 12" JL that is blown and my friend wants the dust cap to put on his that fell off. Is there a way that I can take this off nicely and what would be a good way to put it back on?

If yours is blown, just cut it straight off the cone with excess around it...then take a sharp/flat blade (like a utility knife) to get most of the exceess off. Then take some 80 grit sandpaper and sand around the edge to smooth it out.
