How to seal top of subwoofer box

Hello -

I am wrapping up my first sub box build. So far I have used Titebond and screws to attach all the sides and the port, so all I have left is to put the top on.

I planned on doing the same for the top, but was wondering how do I go about sealing the top of the box with silicon after I put on the top? Right now with the top off I can seal the inside edges with silicon, but after I put on the top I won't be able to seal the corner and the top inside of the port walls with silicon as my port is only 2.5" width and I can't fit my arm back there?

I watched a couple videos and it looked like they put silicon around the top edges of the box before putting on the top?

Looking for info on how to top off my box and have no leaks please.

If you use a decent sized bead of glue you won't have anything to worry about. A good Elmers or Titebond will seal it up strong.
This^^^ As long as your cuts are straight and there aren't any gaps. If there are, use caulk and run a bead along the inside walls. You can also tip the box up and add more glue to the gaps to fill in so it doesn't run down the side walls.

Also a good way to get some nice 45s in the corners if you have lots of resin.
I have a ton of resin, lol. Still about 7 gallons left. Plenty to do my wall //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I've always used a thick bead of liquid nails, that stuff is literally tuffer then nails
That's the way I used to do it. Never had an issue, and it was a foolproof way to make sure it's sealed. Now I just use a thick bead of glue and if I feel the need I'll wipe some clear silicon on there with my finger. I've used bondo to fill in big gaps when I f'd up on my cuts, which worked good as well.

Bondo drys and shrinks, and becomes brittle. It will crack. It's not meant for sealing cracks in sub boxes.

I meant as far as aesthetics go. I use sawdust and woodglue then go over it with bondo to fill in the gaps for looks. Should've specified.
