how to "free air" a sub?

ok, so im intrested to know...i have my sub, and my amp, there sitting under ym bed, and have been for the past 2 months...i haev herd about "free airing" subs, where you just wire up the sub and watch it play without a box...how is this possible? because i want to hear my sub...weather its in my car or no...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

hook the amp up. make sure you set your gains very very low. becasue when the woofer is out of the box it will have a longer throw and will result in hitting the backplate or spider landing. and presto

Yeah, ummm. Its not that difficult.

what confuses you about it? you hook teh woofer up like normal. except the woofer is not in a box.

Yep....the term free air means only that there is no box in the equation. Still hook up the amp normally, and the sub the same way.
