How to purchase from members

Hey guys this may be a strange question but is there a general procedure to follow when buying on the forum? I couldnt really find anything. mainly what im wondering is if the seller giving me an item i paid for is purely based off of the "honor system" as well as the feedback system.

I am interested in buying something from a junior member with no previous transaction history i can find on this website. How can i be reassured that everything will be legitimate?

Iv never bought or sold on this site before so im uncertain of the standard way to do things.

It's kind of hard. Just make sure you make a unboxing video. A proof of delivery of time, save the messages, and keep in contact. DONT EVER GIFT MONEY THRU PAYPAL.

Make sure you get pics with username and date. Save everything. If you use paypal and something goes wrong, they will make it right (this may take a while).

As stated above, don't gift money.

Also, make sure you have a phone number and an address before you pay anyone any money. Google Earth can help to verify the address and, of course, calling can help verify the phone number.

In the end, make sure you have as many ways to contact the seller as reasonably possible and also get very detailed and specific pictures. I'd ask for pics and then ask for a specific picture of a certain part of the item or from a certain angle, in order to verify that the item does in fact exist and to make sure you see everything you need to see.

Yeah whenever I sell something I make sure that the buyer has my VERIFIED paypal address, my name, and I furnish a tracking # asap. I also followup with the buyer to make sure the package got there intact. Even though I pack for drop kicking, you can never be too sure.
