How to pick a wireless router? Please help!

linksys WRTP54G which is the vonage compatible wireless router and i use it w/ my 360. havent had a problem with it yet. i used to have 2 computers and my 360 all hooked up to it. never a single problem

I am buyin my laptop from Circuit Cityhttp://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDetail.do?oid=153876&c=1

And want to buy a wireless router from there also. But there are so many and I am clueless as to what to buy. I don't game much but will prob. be using my wireless router for my PS2 and Xbox shortly. Please help!
I believe you want to get one that is a "G" rated. It's the fastest and longest range available at the moment. Linksys is a very popular brand but there are others that work equally well.

Actually, 802.11n is the fastest wireless connection at the moment. However, not very highly supported and it is relatively new. As for your question about routers, I have been a happy camper using netgear products. I've used many linksys in the past and every single one has given me problems. Keep in mind, this is all personal experience. Other people swear by their products. I will never purchase another one ever again. The highly recommended brands seem to be linksys, netgear, and d-link. Just look at the products, see if they fit your needs, and buy based on that.

nice there is a "N" version already? It's been awhile since I use mine. The G one was pretty good. I split with my roommate and one across the hall with no problem.
