I am building a slot ported box and i am almost designing it but i don't know how to measure port displacement. do you just measure the displacement of the actual wood creating the port that is on the inside of the box or is the area inside the port part of displacement also? also does anyone know the displacement of a 12'' type r? thanks

lets say your port is 3" wide 12" tall 15" deep. you are also using the side wall of the box as one of the port walls. what you do is take 3.75 (considering you are using 3/4" wood) x 12 x 15 divided by 12^3

so the internal volume of the port is considered displacement and is not factored in to the volume of the box?

say you want 2 cubes and your port displacement (internal volume) is 1 cube. then you make sure your internal box volume is 3 cubes + the driver displacement
