How to make enclosure terminals?

I plan on making a custom sub box for 2 SA-12's around Christmas. The one thing I'm a little unsure of is how to make speaker terminals on the box. I don't plan on taking my box out of my trunk all that often, but when I do, I'd like to get it out without tools and have it be a fairly quick process. I've seen people like Meade do the bolt terminals, and also the premade ones you can put in with a hole saw.

What do you guys like to do for your boxes?

I do both, push terminals for anything under 1.5k and 5/16x1.25" bolt terminals above that.

I'm gonna be running 1500w. I'll do bolts just to be safe. How exactly do you put it in thought? Do you pre-drill a whole and feed in the bolt with some washers? And do you use silicon to seal it at all?

Predrilled holes certainly. Bolt with washer on the inside with terminal wire to sub. On the other end, washer then nut. Torque down. Add wire from amp and use a wing nut to tighten that down. It will be sealed completely.

i've always just drilled a hole and pushed the wire through. if you're really concerned use some glue or silicon in the hole to seal it lol

Yes, pre-drill the hole and use washers. I used to use silicone to seal it, but it honestly won't make a difference if the bolt is snug in the hole and tightened down.

If your hole is loose as a $20 craigslist hooker, use silicone to seal it up

sounds good to me. last question, what type of bolt works the best? is just stainless good enough? or does it not matter?

As long as it's conductive, it'll work. I don't usually pay attention to what kind of bolt it is, honestly

It's what I'm here for

if you would like bolts I have full thread 3" aluminum with aluminum nuts. beats steel and brass conductivity
Yep, aluminum is good
