How to kill money?

I have been saving for a new woofer for a few weeks nowjpg, and will have about $200 saved up in the next week.

My neighbor decides to host a yard sale! He gives me the opportunity to toss whatever I want in there. Including, my Aura subs, all the amps I'm not using, the Roadmaster speakers I haven't touched in ages, my JVC HU, and all the CRT monitors my heart desires.

I see the monitor that I'm using now and realize that thin 17" LCDs from Newegg run right around $200. My current monitor is for lack of better words, huge. It's 13 years old. It puts out insane amounts of heat, and is about as efficient as a Ford Excursion. See the attachment.

My question, should keep saving for one "bragging rights" woofer, or indulge in a monitor that will free up valuable space on my desk for things like the rest of my keyboard?

sub (go to a computer parts forum and ask the same question.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif )

Better camera to take more pics of youre mom... No, id spend it on some audio.. although you can get lightly used monitors on ebay for a good deal.

I had the same dilemma recently when I sold off 2 of my car sub boxes and 2 of my home sub boxes. Each one cost a considerable amount to build in terms of material and labor; plus, they were built with my own hands. However, I can always build another sub box and drivers (usually) devalue over time. Get the monitor and be happy now. If you want to get another sub later, you can probably find something better or the same sub you sold for less than it is worth now.

Get something you'll use now rather than keep around something that does nothing but collect dust.

I think I'm going to go with the monitor. Because I'm huddled so close to it my vision is weakening. Another downside. Plus after searching on google, appearantly the efficient LCD within 5 years it will pay for itself, assuming they last 5 years.

i second the notion of buying a larger desk if possible and putting the rest toward a new sub
