i want to get a macbook or equivalent PC...

i am a broke college kid...

anyone ever finance a computer...or maybe would it make sense to get a credit card and use it to purchase it and make the monthly payments just to establish some credit?

Best bet would be to goto Best Buy or something of the equivalent and see if you can finance it through them.

Maybe try Rent-A-Center or Aarons? Don't know if they have those where you are.

That is where I got my new LCD TV. You end up paying a lot more for it than paying cash, but at least you have it in hand, and you're building credit.

Toshiba is havin a hell of a deal on there laptops. My buddy just got a Satelite for like 500 bucks, a nice one!!

Just get a credit card with a low interest rate and low limit. That way you wont have a high payment... nor the want to go and spend money

Look for a HP or Compaq, they have consistently high Customer service ratings. I've known two people that bought a toshiba and had to take it back within a couple weeks.

yes, alot of colleges have deals with manufacturers and they allow you to buy the laptops through the school and it goes on your tuition

Getting from Rent-A-Center would be good if you don't want a credit card. As stated before you'll end up paying more for it than if you brought it straight up though but it's still a good idea in case you don't want a credit card.
