How to get more out of what i have??

I just got a sundown sa15 d2 that im pushing with a spl z2x 1600w 2 channel amp thats bridged and supposedly is putting out 740w to the sub. A new amp would probably be better because from what ive heard these subs can handle alot more power than im giving it. The box its in is sealed and its probably way too small. I just know these subs can do alot better than mine is. I still love it and am very happy with it, i just want to do it justice. Itll be a while before i can make any changes. Just wondering what you guys thought.

ported would be the cheapest upgrade you could do, and the most beneficial....it will mean a whole new box and then you will be wanting to feed it more and more..lol

ill have to build the box, i just dont understand all those dimension recommendations that sundown gives and have no knowledge of building boxes to specs haha

Check out the vendor section. Find a designer you like and ask them to design something for you. It'll cost a few bucks, but it'll be well worth it.

yea get a box...i remember when I went from a sealed box to a properly tuned ported box for my type rs. Same amp and everything but it sounded WAAYYY louder...

You have a very good woofer and you need to let it loose in a ported box.
