how to get around tickets for illegal tint

if you have a note from your doctor saying sun/headlights bothers your eyes, can you not get cited for illegal tint?

no, thats the most retarded idea ever.

An incredibly stupid girl I know tried that and got rejected

Here in CA u just need to be careful to avoid tickets.... if u g ot a ticket you need to either slap your plates on another car identical to yours with no tint and get it signed off, or you need to removed the tint

dude its not like your waving a gun in the air just because you have a tinted car.
tint or no tint = gun in the lap and the cop gets shot either way.

people that are crazy enough to shoot people like that dont give a **** //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
You do realize that tint laws are mainly enacted to protect officers from people inside a vehicle, right?

Cops around my city all have dark tint on all their cars....so no one really gets ****ed with about tint. ive got 5% all around and no one has ever said a thing about it. And with a 4 door jeep cherokee - thats alot of dark glass. Only static I ever get is the MP's at the base gates that ask me to roll the windows down since its so dark //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I agree 100% but it gives the cops a reason to put laws on tinti

If you got ticketed for tint on the windshield, then you're just borked.
I thought this was just for tint in general, but if you went to the trouble to tint your windshield, you knew it was illegal.
x2

you cant ***** about something you knew was only a matter of time before you get caught.

you do realize the topic is front windshield tint right?

so knowing that...windshield tint doesnt affect officer safety unless when you get pulled over the officer walks in front of the car to take a peek in...

Nothing in the topic or in the original post indicated it was only for the windshield.

touche.

none the less most states let you have tint everywhere besides the windshield, which is why i assumed it was what he meant by "illegal" tint.

now that i reread the post...im assuming hes talking about how much tint, when i thought the issue at hand was the location of the tint.

only way my friend got around it was that he was stationed at Fort Stewart in 1999 and came back to Columbus, Ohio to kick it and had tint that was legal down there and the cop let him go because he had out of state plates and he said he was visiting. I have had other friends that have the limo tint and colored tint that get away with it because the have plates from another state.

So solution move somewhere that allows darker tint. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nerd.gif.c6fa51ddf7ff75f1c0371fbc648f70ae.gif

I'm assuming the OP lives in a state with no inspection law, since he's had this tint on his windshield for like 2 years?

Lucky ****er.... I can't stand our tint law here.

he didnt even say anything about the side windows, he only told me about my windshield which is 15%
first time ive gotten stopped for tint in over 2+ years with it like that
eh, good enough for me. probably skimmed it and figured the whole thread was about this.

FYI, california tint laws **** ***. no tint of front passenger windows and only top 4" of windshield can be tinted
