How to effectively plug up a port, and/or is it even a good idea in my case?

I will be running two of these in separate 4.75cu ft enclosures:

Massive Audio Hippo-152 15" Hippo Series Car Subwoofer

I am planning on using two of these as ports per box:

Precision Port 4" Flared Speaker Cabinet Port Tube Kit

Using the following calculator to determine lengths:

Products Menu

Here I tune to 34hz with two ports and get the length of 10.4" per port

At a previous competition, I saw a guy use some massive rubber plug to plug a port and drop the frequency on the go. I was wondering if I can do the same thing here, and if so, where do I buy/how do I make such a plug?

34/24hz both sound like pleasing frequencies to me. But I don't want to dive in without hearing your guy's feedback first.

Thanks for the link, that look exactly like what I saw the guy use.

I can't make the ports any longer than 1ft long, so I don't really know how to get more area. I add a larger port on the calculator and the length goes way up. Unless I'm misunderstanding the whole porting concept.
