How to diagnose an Amp in protect?

I've never done this before but I'm not too shabby with electrical stuff. I have a multimeter as well. My 2007 Rockford p400/4 (no onboard fuse) shot into protect when I hit a bump awhile back. All connections were tight, and I see no popped caps or burns on the board. So where do I start? Amp stays in protect with and without rcas, with and without speaker wired in.

Bad ground. Check connections.

Btw....so much info about this subject AT LEAST a few times. Search for it. Also youtube helps too.
Will do. I ground on my strut towers. I have my batt, 3k and my 4ch grounded on the same nut though. Rookie mistake? Should I give each their own spot?

diff grounds are better just make sure paint is sanded off..
Yea paint is already sanded on that one. Next day off I'll ground in another location and see what happens. Are there better places to ground? I'm thinking about upgrading wiring since I'll be adding more batts in the future, and I'll be running all power wire under the car. Is there a good place under the car to ground?
