How to Bench Test Amplifiers

Hey there, I have an amp coming in and also for the one I bought new, the one coming in is a Xtant 302A and the one I have already is a 403A. Also just for future reference it would be handy. I was wondering how do you bench test amps to make sure everything is working and also how much true continuous watts they are pumping out? What equipment is needed and is there a resource for this type of thing. Thanks.

well. first, you need to have a powersupply that can provide the ammount of current it will want at THE AMPS RATED VOLTAGE. then you need to get an insturment to measure AC voltage at a certain ohm load... then you need to do some math using the input voltage of the RCA' s and the gain and your measurements of the AC voltage...

There is a ghetto un-acurate way to do it with a mulitmeter. Do a search it was posted before.
