how to add a capacitor * NEED HELP

If you'd read a bit more in the forums here you would have realized that a cap wasn't the wayto go and saved your money.

As far as how to install it...connect the - terminal to a solid ground point. Then connect the + terminal to the + power wire that you ran from the battery. If the cap came with a little resistor, touch the resistor between the + cable and the + terminal before you make the actual connection, to charge the cap. If it didn't come with one it should be self charging.

Read the sticky on the BIG 3. you my friend have just wasted your money on something that is just going to fck up your electrical system even more haha. that's alright everyone learns but sell that cap or something and run the big 3 a good battery 2nd battery if needed and if still needed upgrade to a bigger alt:).

well I wouldn't say caps are completely worthless... I had stock alt, yellow top in front and 1.7 farad cap in the back. well my mounts on the cap broke so I took it out.... 15 mins later my alt went out... so that cap was helping my system and was keeping the voltage on my car good. After that I put a new alternator in (still stock), did big three and upgraded to 1/0 gauge and put the yellow top in the back and it is a lot better than the cap was. just saying the cap wasn't a bad thing for my car was actually keeping my alternator alive.

Maybe the alt just finally gave out because it was bound to crap out anyways?
