how do you do this with out melting the sh1t outta the coating?? i tried it, but couldnt keep it hot enough with out burning the plastic

idk, i was just ****ing around...best bet is probably solder...maybe strip the coating back a little but further to get a solid solder connection and shrink wrap over everything after

Torch, flux, solder and heat shrink after. Thats how I did all my 1/0 connectors.
