and no you don't need one.

just use a regular hammer..

best way is to sit the front of the terminal to a wal or something. then push the wire in there towards the wall to apply pressure, then hammer it down. pull away and test for it being loose. don't tug on it just wiggle it. it if wiggles some then hammer more.
