ok so i have a problem i just bought a alpine flip up touch screen head unit for my jeep but i have a problem the head unit when it flips up it will hit the aunning over the head unit slot shown in the pic below any advise or tricks to make it work i thought about switching the heat and air conditioning switches with the head unit?

use some kinda spacer between the cage and unit, or cage and kit. might look like ****, but hey.

if your good with glass or bondo, take that part of the dahs out and cut a whole to fit, then put a couple (1 should be all you need) layers of fiberglass, sand it down, throw some bondo on it, sand that down, get interior paint to match?

x2... I would return it, however the grand cherokee has a 1.5 DIN, not double.

I was gonna say the double din as well. Why did you get a flip up if you have the space for a double din? More reliable too as you do not have to worry about the motor giving out or gears slipping on the double din. I got a D3 and I LOVE IT!

thats 1 and a 1/2??? Looks pretty tall, I say measure it and make your own bracket. Some sheet metal going behind the dash is alot easier to cover up then making a whole new dash.

you could also go mad crazy style and extend the wires and make a custom glass enclosure for the flip out down on the floor between the seats? thats if you wanna go nutz tho:crazy:

also i know some of the wires connected to most car heaters are made stationary by the lack of slack in the wires? the only way to find out is to take apart your dash, or look for info on it online.

well the grand cherokee is a 1.5 din so idk is there any kits for it i dont feel like ripping my dash apart i mean i`m a mcgyver but not that much lol
