How "musical" are L7 for daily? Thinking about changing it up.

I know kicker subs are kinda "frowned upon" here on this forum, but I was thinking of going from 4 rlp 12"s to 3 L7 12"s tuned to 34Hz. The box will be 6cubes after all displacement. What's your thoughts on this setup? The subs will be powered by a kicker2500 with a strong electrical to back it up. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Edit for the same price range as the 3 L7 12"s, what other 3 D2 12" would you recommend? Keep in mind they need to be able to function in 5cubes or less.

i dont mind the L7 12's... just tune the box correctly and I think you will be happy... a bit muddier than other subs i've tried but thats the price you pay I guess..

The L7s are nice sounding drivers for as much spl as you get out of them. I had a total of 3 L710s but only use two of them at one time and I really liked them. Wish I still had them actually lol.

My only problom with the L7's is they aren't reconeable. They can take alot of power too, My 10" l7 I have ran over 1500wrms to it for close to five minites, it got really hot but it still works

They will be in the custom center console where my rlps are right now. I'm thinking of running 3 D2, and wiring the 2500 to 1.3. I figured that would give them each in the ballpark of about 800-900w. I know the 2500 is only 2ohm stable, but I figured with imp rise, and a good strong electrical (300amp & stock 140amp alts, 3 big yellow tops, and 2 runs of 1/0 hyperflex) I can pull it off.

lol i have to agree with PV all day on that

they are farther from being musical than burping the national anthem while drunk on grape koolaid and peach schnapps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

They do have alittle motor noise, If you are really close to them, in a back seat they sound good.

The amp will handle that load, with your electrical but it is going to be like 1000 watts to each sub, the amp has like 2700 watts at 2 ohm, you drop your load it will incress your power

No motor noise at all. They sound very clean for them being right next to you. At 1000 a piece the L7s should be fine I figure.
why go from rl-p's to kicker l7's?
Space mainly. I don't really have the room for the 4 of them. And they are D4 so if I do 3 of them, the ohms jumps to 2.6. I don't want to decrees output. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
