How much would YOU charge for installation?

My friend called me yesterday and asked me if I could install a system for him:

Kicker L7 12 Dual 4ohm

Kicker ZX.750.1

4 infinity reference speakers (front door panels will have to come off)

Well I told him no coz I don’t know that much. I did install my sub and amp but I don know much about speakers installation-So I don’t wanna mess anything up.

Then he asked me where he should go. Car Toys told him 400 for the install. And some Audio Shop told him 200 including Street Wire 4 gauge wiring.

He asked me if he should do it for 200 or look for cheaper price and maybe get a quote from BestBuy and CircuitCity.

What do u guys think?

tell him to do come on here and read up in the install section and do his own. i think everyone needs to install their own shyt, it just makes it that much sweeter when you listen to it.

I would tell him to buy a case of beer and come over and do it for free. You have done an install (hopefully correctly) so you already know how to do it.

Parts in this case is wiring. Is Street wire 4 gauge wiring kit worth $55?

is it a good brand.

Personally i always thought wire is a wire. Then again i don know that much.

$200 wasnt a bad quote. For my FRIENDS, i dont charge, unless I have to build or fabricate things. Running wires, dropping stuff in place, and mounting an amp, I wouldnt charge for it. If they wanted to pay, regardless, I'd only take like, $50. They buy all the wires and cables of course.

The reason why I do things this way, because when time comes, and YOU need help...most likely the ones you HELP will help you in return. Like FRIENDS do.

i don't ever expect someone to do anything for free.

200 with wiring included seems fair.

as long as the wire is not aluminum it's a good price and yes street wire is allright.. i use stinger all copper wire. and a 2ch amp kit is 69.99.
