How much would it help my system if I...

ran a 0 gauge ground from my batteries in the back to the front. Currently I have a Stinger SP1000 in the back powered off of a 170 amp H/O alternator, and I'm gonna add a Kinetik HC2400 in the rear. I have 0 gauge from the alternator to the battery and I have 0 gauge from the battery to the chassis, and then 0 gauge from the chassis in the front to the engine block. But if I ran a 0 gauge ground from the batteries in the rear back to the front, would that help my setup at all? Or if I replaced the ground wire on the alternator itself? There is like some crappy maybe 14 gauge wire screwed onto the top of the alternator to the engine block and then again to the chassis. If that was supplemented with like an 8 gauge wire would it help? As always, your wisdom is much appreciated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

IT would help For sure. right now you are charging the bat by using the chassis as part of the circuit. It would be much less resistance to just run a 1/0 gauge wire from the alt to the bat.

Could I just run the 0 gauge wire from the battery negative to the frame of the alternator?

Got 0 gauge from my batteries to amps for the monos and 4 from the battery to the multi-channels. they won't accept 0 gauge unless you really trim down the end a ton lol.

That Will help but the best is just to make a direct run. With these new cars that have Uni bodies the resistance is pretty high when grounding to the frame.

Oops, its not the alternator which has a ground wire right on it, it's the power steering pump. I can't ground to the frame of the alternator because there's the header on the side which has any nuts I could bolt to which would melt the wire, and the serpentine belt is on the other side which would also wreck my wire if I tried to mount it there. So should I just ground it to a shiny spot on the engine or to the bracket for the power steering/alternator, or should I just get a ground distribution block and connect it to multiple places?
