How much would i lose per speaker runing a 4 channel into 8 channels?

well i am wondering how much watts my comps would see if i had a 4 channel hooked up to 4 sets of comps, im looking at the zx650.4 kicker 4 channel its rated at 120x4 at 4 ohms, now adding 4 more channels what would the watts be, or how much would the rms drop, im trying to decide if the 650.4 would be enough or to go with the zx850.4 amp which is 175x4 at 4 ohms? any help please

I'm not clear on exactly what you're trying to compare.

Do you mean 2 component sets (F/R) vs. 4 component sets (2F/2R)?

You wouldn't be losing anything since you're adding both displacement and power, but if you had 2 sets they'd get (obviously) 120w to each woofer/tweet.

Since the amp does 170x4 at 2 they'd get 85w each with 4 sets. A pretty negligible difference IMO.

With the 850.4 and 4 sets they'd get about 105w each.

yes well it will probally would be 3 sets instead of 4, 2 front sets and 1 rear sets, which would make it a 6 channel instead of 4. so about 85 watts to each speaker on the 650.4? what do you think would be better the 650.4 or 850.4? thanks

a component set of speakers should normally come with a crossover to drive the speaker + tweeter off of 1 channel so unless your trying to run active your not going to use 8 channels

also why are only putting 1 in the rear? like a center or something? if so, plus the 2 front sets of components, thats only going to use 3 channels off of thar 650.4 (i have that amp also, its a nice amp) as long as you use the crossovers

yea it has crossovers, well i was going to use 1 set in the rear doors, and put some 6x9s in the back factory location, which is a tahoe, and just run it off of the HU so i would save some power for the amp to the comps, since the rear fill doesnt matter as much or i was going to buy a set of comps for the rear too and run all 4 sets on the kicker, im trying to decide between the 650.4 or the 850.4? the componets im looking at are Phoenix Gold RSDs, which i heard can handle up to 150 watts rms, which im looking to get around 100 or 110 for each, also it was between the RSDs and the Kicker DS series comps but i havent heard much on them.

Why do you need many speakers? What is your substage? Most of the time 1 component set up front is plenty loud. Get the kicker 650.4 and run 1 comp. set active and it will/should be PLENTY loud unless you are hitting some serious numbers! I was running 1 comp set with 80rms a peice to 2 mids, and about 40rms a piece to my tweeters. I never had anyone tell me they wanted something louder than that..... My goal was SQ, but it got SUPER loud IMO. If i sent more power to my mids i think i would delete my subwoofer.

Most of my passengers enjoyed the music at a very moderate level. Once i put it to what i enjoyed some even turned it down.

well i was debating that just doing 2 sets of comps front doors and rear doors, on a 4 channel amp, my substage right now is im guessing bout 1500 watts which consist of 2 kicker l7 12s, and sx1250.1 amp, but i was going to go ahead and set my mids and highs up to compete with a 3000 mono amp on 1 18 Btl or another kind of 18, which will be later when i have extra money, that is the plan, do you think just running 2 sets of comps would be pretty loud? i heard to concentrate on the front more then the rear so i was going to put 2 sets up front.
