How much would I expect to pay?

How much would I expect to pay for materials to do a fiberglassing job on a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee to get a double din touchscreen to fit? It's a custom install obviously, only if it won't fit already. I haven't gotten the unit in the mail yet to check it, but when I do the "see if it fits" thing on circuit city, no double din unit fits for my ride.

Can anyone help me out? I was told a price for materials and I was just seeing if it was accurate. 200 dollars for everything, not counting labor.

Help me to not get ripped off! Cause I don't know anything about fiberglassing...

a bunch.do it yourself.
That doesn't even make sense. Even if I did it myself, I'd still have to buy materials? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I was told it was going to be 200 alone for materials, and that's all I'm asking, if this is an accurate amount.

You got a picture of your dash where the HU goes?

that looks like an easy job to make a double din fit. Minimal fiberglassing, would mainly be cutting it. I'd glass it to make the double din fit flush into it. What double din do you got?

You could even get something like THIS cut your dash for it to fit and glass it in. Just depends on how good you are at fiberglassing. If you have minimal experience with fiberglass I would get a kit like that to minimize the amount of molding, forming you would have to do.

If the dispensing gun wasn't so expensive I would say buy that kit on ebay, cut your radio bezel for it to fit and just use Fusor plastic to bond the two together and sand smooth and paint.

That kit is actually made for 05-07 Grand Cherokees with the navigation to make it double din, most of the time all the dashes have the mounting points for the various options, so that kit might even bolt into your dash, you would still have to cut your bezel for it to fit and mold it in to make it look the best but if it bolts to your dash as well that would make it very sturdy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

if u did it yourself it's gonna be about 30 dollars... but you won't have a dash for at least two days... unless you arent painting it... which right now I'm telling you you are... so atl east 30 dolalrs and no dash for at leat 3 days

it is that simple, about an hour job for halfway decent installers and 4-5 hours for newbs. this does not include paint dry time.
