why is there smoke?
Trying to run the most cone area possible while trying to keep the total number of speakers to under 3 for cost reasons. The dimensions are 44x36x21. It's the back of a trailblazer soo it can be subs back port back or subs up port or up or any orientation really also would using aero ports help out. I'm thinking the best cone area we could do 3 15s or 2 18s what do you guys think. Goal is to be loud as possible while still keeping it kind of flat

I think the general plan is subs up, port back. Three 15's is a little more cone area than 2 18's, three motors vs. 2, more power handling assuming the same sub line, etc.

Either one would get down in the right box off the right power.

P.S. The Tantric HD series subs are very nice.

You have 13.5 cu/ft to work with after the thickness of the wood and assuming a double baffle will be used. I would go with 2 obsidian 18s if you are looking to keep the cost down.
Alright you dont think we could squeeze 3 sundown e 15s in there? it would be around the same price as the 2 18s? we are looking to run this on a saz-1500 by the way

The E 15s would as well, have you looked at the new Audiotechnix subs? Those look very promising
yea I have checked them out the only thing is the E-15s are on sale for like 100 a piece right now with re-cones available and the audio technix ones arent out yet they cost 50 dollars more a piece, but they do have a 2.5 inch 4 layer coil while the sundown only has a 2 inch coil... hrmmm decisions decisions... and we are running this on a saz-1500.
