how much should a coolant flush cost?

i just drained all my coolant out of my car and refilled with straight water a couple weeks ago. I'll drain the water out in a couple weeks and do a proper 50/50 coolant water mix. I just wanted to get out all the old coolant and flush some of the shit out with plain water before I put in coolant since its so expensive (like 10-12 bucks a gallon)

I agree it smells like shit though. And antifreeze is hard as hell to get rid of. I ended up taking it to my mechanic so he could send it out

ya its been over heating once in a while. no its not the supercharged but im planing on doing an engine swap.
Are you planning on doing the whole engine swap or just a top end swap?

You might have to sign up to see that. I'm not sure if the for sale section is public or not.

I have a 98 GTP SC3800 L67 Engine & ****** now for sale. Plus the wiring, ECM and inner axle stubs.
Would like to move it quickly...price is $1000. Typically, I've gotten a whisker more than that for just the engine/wiring/ECM. This will be including the ****** and the inner axle stubs too.

Thanks
He already has interest in the ***** so you could probably get everything else for a good price.

oh and 60 to 79 at jiffy lube is about right, forget exactly cause it was last summer but its within that range

ya it was my t stat. i changed that out and noticed that the coolant looks like shit so i wanted to flush it out. and ill let you know about the engine when the time comes. and ya the price was 60 bucks.

Coolant flushes are cake and they should cost too much if you do them yourself. However, they can be messy. I replaced the radiator in my truck and my car and make a huge mess. Not a big deal though since all the coolant went down the drain. Just convince your parents you won't make a mess and do it yourself....

ya man. i think that's what I'm going to do. if i do it my self i can replace both the upper and lower hoses and get 3 gallons of coolant for the price of the place to do the flush for me, and i can also flush it out with water as many times as i want until i think i got all the old stuff out of there.

If you do it yourself once you have the old coolant in a bucket, hopefully one with a top, you can take it to your city dump and they will properly get rid of it for you for free usually...
