How much room

I am going to build a box for a buddy. He wants wants the box built so that the subs are firing down toward the floor. How many inches from the floor to the speaker do I need to do this? It is going in a blazer. Oh yea the subs are 4 10" punch hx2

I would say 2-4" would be good. I always mesure the excursion and add 2" to that for my boxes.
