How Much Power to Treo SSx

I want to get a 12" treo SSx in my truck and i was wondering if i could get away with giving it about 1600 watts rms and giving it about 2.5 cubic ported. or would i get better sound with an ssi with the same power and airspace ?

my ssx on the ed9.1 slams the $hit out of the car people find it hard to breathe and swallow i can't imagine this thing getting the 2500-3000 rms it would be nuts
