How much power is my amplifier really pushing?

I have the Kenwood KAC-9105d which is rated at 900w @ 2ohm

I'm sure that is measured at 14.4v

 

My system stays at about 12.4v before I turn the bass on

Also I'm sure that amp doesn't have a perfect efficiency rating

I still haven't factored in impedence rise..

 

Any guesses on how many watts my amp is really doing?

after rise and voltage drop my guess 650-750 depending on how severe each is.

KAC series is notoriously underpowered

I have never seen 1 do rated without issues... I would guesstimate maybe 800 rms

the newer models like yours are better than the prior series but not by much

with 3x 30A fuses it should theoretically be capable of 900 RMS at 14.4

Absolutely impossible to answer without knowing what frequency it's playing as it will put out a different amount of power at each frequency, unless of course you have it hooked up to a fixed resistor.

This is true, but he is just looking for an idea. Which why I said 650-750

It should be plenty to get loud for daily I'm guessing about 650rms

Based on the underwhelming performance of the 9104D that could only eek out 644 watts RMS @ 2 ohms on the test bench, I'd go out on a limb and assume that the 9105 does about the same. Kenwood KAC-9104D - Review Amplifiers - Amplifier Reviews - Car Audio and Electronics

what do you guys think this will put out power wise? rated @ 720w 4ohm bridged 3x30A fuses
