how much power for the p3's?

p3s are not that bad, with the exception for their horrible cracking cones and what not.

So peronally i do not recommend their subs, however their amps are well made, they had some issues with the chrome series punch amps that gave them a bad rep but ive not had a problem with the current series punch amps yet

I say get a type r about the same performance without the worries

ok so im thinkin about getting 2 new rf p3d412's and a rf-t5001bd amp and wire the up at 1ohm which would be putting out about 985 watts rms. Do those p3's will hold all that?
I had the P3's great subs, and the way I had them hooked up was 2 P600's and I never had a problem. I personally prefer my amp to have a bit more power than the sub. or even 1 T1000.1bd that's what I have for each T2.

hate to rain on the rf haters parade, but i own a p3 and replaced it with a type r after everybody badmouthed the p3. guess which one is louder? p3 guess which one sounds better? p3 (2 cu ft slot port tuned to 35 with 700rms)

ur not doin something right with that type r. R's get a ton louder than p3s. I would def give a R 1000rms if not more, that was ur mistake.

Hate to rain on your parade, but type R is a much better sub than a P3 and will get much louder. Something is wrong with your setup.

I DB Dragged a guy in Street B... he had 2 P3s on a T15001bd in a 4Runner. Hardly topped 140. For 2 12s in an SUV on 1500w, that's pitiful. I beat him in my van with an XXX 15 on 2kw with a 143 (which also isn't impressive, but the XXX I had was on some nasty soft parts [Had already been removed and then epoxied back in], and no dust cap in a box I built in 15 minutes.) I just needed something I could bassrace with //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

ran 20 ft of speaker wire from one car to other and put the 1000.1bd to the r. did not get any louder and started to smell after about 2 min. remember i am talking about 10 in woofers. maybe the 12 inch r's are stronger than the 10

As I already said. Something is wrong. I never said 250 watts would make it wang way harder. I know from experience that an additional 200 watts will not make a huge difference. 750 watts should be plenty, double the RMS of most subs is not normally good.

the amp is a rf 600.1bd, the box is 2 cu.ft. slot port tuned to 35hz. i am running 1 ten in. sub( currently the r) both the p3 and the r are dual 4 ohm v.c. wired to 2 ohm mono .

the car is a scion xb

I like the 15" type r over the 15"p3.

but the 10 and 12, rockford takes teh cake.

Not sure about the new RF models though, aint heard nuthing but p2s.

And thos sound like shit.

HOPE RF didnt disapoint.....
