How much power do I need?

I have an old school (early 90's) Orion XTR10 800watt rms in a Bandpass box, what is the minimal power I should put into to avoid under power it? I don't want the sub to overpower the rest of my system and I don't want to damage the sub from under powering it.

you wont damage a sub from that

looks like about 800wrms will do

yup, just as long as your gains are all set correctly you won't have problems
