I have an old school (early 90's) Orion XTR10 800watt rms in a Bandpass box, what is the minimal power I should put into to avoid under power it? I don't want the sub to overpower the rest of my system and I don't want to damage the sub from under powering it.

you wont damage a sub from that

That seems extreme //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif So if I am pushing 75rms to my door speakers, I can do say 300rms to the sub?

I would suggest 80 ah of yinglong lithium and a H/O alternator. I'm running 40 ah with a 320 alternator on a 3.5K and it isn't enough.
