How much poly fill?

My new subs recommend a 1.25 cu ft sealed enclosure, per sub....and my current box is 1.10 cu ft per chamber.....

Should I use poly fill? If so, how much? Or should I not use any at all?

Too much and the polyfill will start to take up space and make the enclosure seem smaller. Too little and it will make no difference at all.

When you pull it out of the bag, grab a handful (It comes out in clumps) and hold it in an open hand, pack it about that tight, a little more or little less to taste. Not an exact science by any means.

i'd suggest filing the box, but don't pack it tightly.

What kind of difference does this make? And can I get this material at a Home Depot/Lowes? I have heard people talking about pollyfill but didn't know the purpose of it 100%. Guess I'll do some searching then.
