How much Gasoline Does AC really use?

According to mythbusters you actually get the same. On the highway that is. I dunno about city, but it may be on there too.

I looked this up a while ago, IIRC if your going under 50 roll down the windows. More then 50 like on the highway or something turn on the ac and roll up the windows.

I think it's based on your vehicle. Your engine size and how big the ac compressor maybe. I would assume that it would show less difference in a v8 as compared to a 4cyl. Just a guess.

it doesn't burn not enough to roast yourself in the summer by not using it.

i'm a michigander as as soon as it gets hot i have the ac cranked and i notice no difference whatsoever. it seems i get worse gas milage in the middle of winter

If your on the highway, roll your windows up and use the ac you actually save gas because your car has the least wind resistance and can net you about 2 or 3 mpgs, and i know because my caddy has a digital MPG gauge.

That is the method I use, unless I can stand windows up. For instance, when driving to work in the morning, it doesn't begin to get too hot until I get to work.

depends on where your at in SD. Go inland more towards Ramona and it gets **** hot.

Seriousely man san diego's weather is so perfect i just moved to utah and its ****ing hot here. A lot hotter than diego. It actually gets a little cold downtown at the padres games
