How much ft^2 of deadening doors

My friend and I (he works at an install shop) are going to install my entire system in my 1999 Camaro soon. I'll post more threads not regarding this issue here later.

His shop, of course, uses Dynamat for deadening. I want to deaden my doors, where my components will be going. Hew said two doors = 90 dollars.

I know the performance for Dynamat is decent, if that. I was just wondering how much is needed for two front doors (generally... I know all doors are different sizes.)

I ask because I can get the roll of RAAMaudio deadener which is butyl style. However I am not sure if 65sq/ft is too much. I am kinda short on the money and am not sure If I need to spend the extra 50 dollars or so it would cost, especially if I'd only use half of the roll of deadener they ship in.

Thanks. Any further opinions on how I should go about this would be cool, too.

Yeah one roll of RAAMmat is more than enough for two doors. You could get away with about half of that. However, it isn't wasted. If you have a subwoofer in the trunk, use the rest there. Otherwise, use it in the footwells, floor, firewall, etc.

Yeah that is what I thought. I guess in the end I will be saving more money for better product as well.
RAAMmat is a very good product, but it isn't right to say it is better than Dynamat Xtreme. Better value definitely, but a step below in quality. I'm not saying you will notice a difference in use, just trying to keep things accurate //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yeah, no worries man.

Thing is, I'm 99 percent sure the 90 dollars for deadening was for the original Dynamat, not for the Xtreme.

Whole other story then, never mind //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
