How much do you tip?

I've come to the conclusion that many states need to increase their minimum wage ...
Here in BC, the minimum wage is $8/hour which, at today's exchange rate, is equal to $7.05/hour in US dollars ...

I'm not crying myself to sleep when I don't tip knowing they're still making $8/hour ...
servers make below min. wage here.

The people who work for their tips in my book are pizza delivery guys. Otherwise I leave an ok tip at a restaurant. I would like to tip more, but I am a college student with a college budget.

Because they do what everyone else does and they sit down and drive their car? Then walk 10 feet and walk 10 feet back??

Yeah, they seem to earn their tip ALOT more than people who take your order, bring you drinks, bring you an appetizer, clean off the table, drop off your food, re-fill drinks, take the rest of the dirty dishes off your table.....

Yeah, those pizza guys WORK for their tip. That's why it's considered a GOOD tip to top a pizza guy $3

They spend their fuel, have risk in getting in an accident which will potentially cost them a lot more, and they are rushed.

I don't see why people have so much sympathy towards waiters. They bring your food, give you small stuff like sauce, take your dishes away, and then clean the table. It's not like they are going through hard shit, Theres people out there with shit jobs not making much more or even less than a waiter in a climate controlled indoor area.

yeah, because its not like they have to deal with doing that with a bunch of tables at the same time, having to get everyones order absolutely perfect, even if its something completly random, not even on the menu, dealing with assholes. and on top of that dealing with ****heads that take 20 minutes to make up their minds. in the mean time holding up the waiter after she just gave them 10 minutes to look at the menu.

not to mention they have to take the flack for anytime a bartender or chef/cook messes up. everytime someone randomly changes their mind, even after the food is right infront of them.

you're right, why would anyone tip them. its not like its stressful or anything.

last time i checked delivery drivers made ATLEAST minimum wage (twice what a server makes), not only that but they can claim their miles on tax's. i dont remember the last time i tipped a ups driver. not to mention they can drop off pizza's that look like dogshit and still walkaway fine. the only liability they have is getting the pizza in a timeframe that resembles what the customer was told.

Not saying that they dont deserve tips, just saying that their job is reasonably easy. And if there are any problems its either because managment either didn't schedule enough people or misquoted... OR the driver is retarded.

Yes I am right it is not stressful.
no, you're a moron, beyond that you can't read. And have yet to make one post that anyone could deem beyond fagtastic. quit posting now. quit breathing as well.

you probably work at mcdonalds. or footlocker or something. so i can atleast simi-explain your ignorance.

Last time I tipped was $3.25 or +/-a few cents for a $11 at Uno's this previous Saturday, the reason I hate tipping is I don't know if that is too much too little or what. It just makes it awkward on both ends. I just want to have a meal and go and not feel if the amount was ok or not.

Nope, I have an internship at Regal-Beloit. Maybe that's why I cannot feel what it is like to work at a place like a restaurant. But if they don't like the restaurant job they should go else where, or goto college and get an internship, and not worry about cleaning tables.
