I will be running 4 sa15s on 2 brz2400 strapped. I haven't done the roof yet. I'm poor right now so I'm using Peel n Seal. Since its Peel n Seal do I need to double up? I also would like to know if deadening on plastic trim pieces would help?

yes....

Peel and seal won't do anything. It isn't a sound deadener or absorber

You should have just picked up some Audio technix. You can get 40ft2 for like $125 I think.

And with the amount of deadener it looks like your planning on doing...that won't do chit. You need at least 3 layers on your front doors...and you have barely done 1 full door.

this ^^^^^

dont cheap out. do it right and once. putting some on the plastic panels will help some as well as foam and weather stripping. but you will probably never get the plastic panels to be deadened fully especially with the system your doing.

go infowars!

Infowars es muey bueno!

Yeah. Hit up Parts Express: the #1 source for audio, video & speaker building components for foam, weather stripped, rubber sound mats, acoustic foam or whatever you need to help with the deadening.

And for deadener. Do not go any cheaper than Audio Technix.

I knew it was coming! Not the best stuff but it works. I've killed trunk and license plate rattle with Peal n Seal in the past. I did a knock test and the back doors are deader.

some deadeners are asphalt based just as P&S is, if you don't get a strong roof smell go for it.
Yeah and they dont do anything either.

While I agree that he should have definitely gone with Audio Technix (hit me up if you'd like to) but the Peal and Seal will in fact do SOMETHING. Whether it's by definition "deadening" or "dampening" is another story.. but it'll eliminate rattle without a doubt.

It wont stop rattles. Thats what closed cell foam's function is. That is exactly why you need deadener, CCF, and MLV.

You can't tell me that if directly applied to sheet metal that it won't stop rattles. I'm not suggesting he use it by any means.. but in a pinch it will stop a sheet metal rattle such as an import trunk.. such as my 93 Corolla that used it for about 2 years when I was young and dumb. It went from sounding like literally a tin to...... not sounding like a tin can.

There is most certainly a difference in someone that has actually used it, had decent results with it and ended up swapping to a real deadener in comparison to your general CA.com user. Just trying to save you some time.

Absolutely it does not. To be immune to vibrations you would need to add inches of deadener to get the desired effect. Fact of the matter is asphalt based products are junk and dont work. They are a waste of money and time.

I'm not sure what you're not understanding. Have you personally used this to come to base this opinion on? I mean.. it's junk. Yeah, no one is denying that at all. Especially not me. But to claim it won't stop metal from rattling is just... incorrect. I've seen it first hand. There IS a reason why people mistook this shit for real shit. It's not just because it looks the same.

Shit, I've still got some of this on my trunk floor from close to 6 years ago. It all sagged off the trunk lid due to the garbage asphalt not loving the heat.. but before it sagged it served it's purpose. Did I notice a night and day difference when I grabbed real damplifier / deadener? Yerp derp, sure did. Peal and Seal will stop SHEET METAL RATTLES though. I don't care what you think you "absolutely" know.. because absolute is simply a no-no in this industry.
