Sorta yeah. Tell me this. You got a sub rated at 1000 watts. Comp season comes up. You throw 10,000 watts to it at comps. Are you gonna play that sub with 10,000 watts every day of the week or just at comps? That 10,000 watts probably wont hurt it for just those 3 seconds you use it to burp it at the comp.
