How many of you trust Ebay??

Look at what they've sold in their feedback. See if they've sold similar items to what you are looking to buy.

Read over the ad several times. Make sure there's no gimmicks or anything. Email them and ask them some questions- see how long it takes for them to respond.

My last purchase (I've done about 30 on ebay), I took a screenshot of the auction and saved it , in case any problems were to arise.

I usually check their feedback and see if they've sold items similar to the auction I'm interested in, and if they've sold items similar in price to the item I'm interested in. If the seller has 100+ feedback, but they're all from selling postcards or something for $1 each, but now they have a $300+ dollar amp for sale.....I probably wouldn't jump on it. But if, for example, the seller has positive feedback from similar items that went for approximately the same or more than the item I'm watching, then I'd feel fairly confident.

i definitely trust ebay more then forums..

reread squeak's and snova's advice..pretty much sums it up....

how many of you have been scammed or never been scammed?

should i trust ebay??
I think its pretty much common sense....

I've never been scammed but the only two times I ever did buy something, shipping took forever, over a month I think. But I trust ebay just as I would any other online store as long as their experienced ebay sellers.

I have delt alot with ebay, always got my items, but once and awhile shipping took awhile but everything arived. I am now having a problem with ebay though, and one thing I hate is how big they are they have no 1800 number to call. For some reason the past 2 weeks they have been taking money out of my account and i have emailed asking why, 2 times they said funds wernt in my account and charged me $20. each time and my bank did the same when funds were in my account and they had no reason to take anyways but they were trying to get $3.00 from me, now I paid almost $100.00 so I have emailed them changed my bank account etc, but first time ever having a problem. One other thing I ran into/well my brother did. He bought a xbox with some games, the guy has over 10k poss feedback with like 100 neg in about 3 yrs of selling. seems like a good guy to trust. Well the guy delt with play stations and xboxs. My brother bought his and payed and while about 2k other people did the same in about one month time. The guy cleared out his bank account. And skipped town and now paypal cant do anything about it even though it was paid through pay pal. All they say is that when they catch him using a bank account if the funds are in there they will take them out and give to my brother, but he has to wait his turn. So Thats one thing to always watch. But I dont see that happening alot. But READ WHAT IS LISTED AND WHAT YOU GET. People have bid on a harley seat thinking they were getting the whole bike and paying 10k for a seat. And it was in the thing if they read it all the way through. That is one scam people do on there. Good luck with it, just read everything and watch there feedback. If they have a few neg but several thousands of pos dont be afraid to buy from them. because you have to figure how many times post office etc. had fault as well. And if stuff was fixed. etc.

Gotta love paypal.
** And then ten minutes later, I won an auction for an item, and paid a seller with paypal; Only to receive an email from him saying he'll only accept cashier's check / money order - So I go to Paypal to cancel my payment, find it's been deducted from my account, and there's no way to pull it back without filing a claim.

Apparently this seller "has no way to get into his account"

So I looked into it; His account is probably locked. That's probably bad.

I don't know what's gonna happen, but I'm impatiently awaiting the outcome.
