How loud is 140DB on bass?

OP, 140dB is pretty **** loud but it all comes down to how "well trained" your ear is. As mentioned in a few posts above, the actual peak frequency of your bass makes all the difference...

 
No it wouldn't and you wouldn't even be able to hear it....
Our ears are most sensitive at 1khz, 3khz at 140db would cause permanent hearing damage after mere minutes. You would be very able to hear it...

NVM, I was late to the party.

EDIT: Loved this part of that "Decibel Comparison Chart" Website- "High frequency sounds of 2-4,000 Hz are the most damaging. The uppermost octave of the piccolo is 2,048-4,096 Hz."
