how long would it take for the glue to burn off the voice coils? i cant play 1 song on like medium bass with out it starting to smell and it has been goin on for a bout 1-1/2 weeks

what sub/amp combo u running?

maybe there's something else going on?

4 RE8's wired to 2 ohms on a Profile CA600 which is 420w @ 2ohm mono

maybe your amp can't handle that load with that many subs. does your bass sound good though?

that's 105 wrms per sub...that's well within they're rated ability..

and really, the amp doesn't care if it's one sub at 2 ohm or 10 subs at 2ohm...as long as it see's 2 ohm...

shoot...i've just never heard of anyone smelling burning glue with new subs.

have ya called re about it? i wouldn't use email, u'll never get an answer.

i'd give them another week at the most...BUT i'd call re first..there could be something else going on..and u don't want to void any warranties!!
