How Long Do HU's last on average?

i had a p6600 had it for about 4-5 months before i ****ed something up, now i cant hook an amp up to it...and the volume knob wont pop out, sold it for 75 bucks.

i've had decks last up to 3yrs in my street vehicles before i just upgraded for a change...but in offroad/dusty conditions, you are lucky to go 1yr before changing decks. that's my experience in new mexico anyhow...
****, you live in the place that i dream about. farmington is rock crawling heaven. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

Kenwood Excelon x-659. Getting close to 3 years - deck and remote still working great. Deck looks almost new because I always use the remote and seldom touch the deck.

Kenwood DPX-440 double-din. Was top of the line in its day. Over 6 years old. Used as part on a carputer system. Some scratched paint but the deck and remote still works flawlessly. Due to it's large display, it's still a strikes up a conversation whenever new people get in the car.

I usually like non-motorized face decks.

Your first radio will probably last you six months(due to u upgrading it or it getting stolen-my situation). But as far as money goes it is relativeley expensive. Dont buy anything at retail if you dont absoluteley have to. Every other person you see has either a connection or a "buddy". Ebay is awesome as well. If this is going to be your first experience with a system, enjoy it cause like most people will tell u it is addicting but bad *** none the less.

My first deck was running like new for 4 years before it was stolen, my present one I have had for 3 and no problems at all, besides losing the remote. Treat your equipment well, and it will treat you well right back.

i found my dads first CD player in his old car and it STILL WORKS perfect it is soo nice it is a

Pioneer DEH-245 high power 35w x 4 haha this is the shit, it has been working since 1997 so about 8 years thats quality... and how do u clean the head units?
