Im looking at the JL Audio W6 V2. Im going to be installing 2 pairs of alpine type r 5.25's off a JBL 80/4 amp pretty soon and I want to get a sub to put some decent bass in my car (Jeep Cherokee). I am looking for something with good sq that has a decent spl (I dont need people to hear me coming, but i want to be able to make it hit hard in the car). I was thinking about either doing one 10 W6 V2 or one 12 W6 V2. Do you guys think this would be a good choice? Also what are the advantages from 10 to 12? Im interested in tight bass.

Thanks,

-Jeff

i can help you out here. i own 2 12" w6v2's. i am running 600 watts to each and i love them. the SQ is great!!! This sub is very accurate. If you don't even really need it to get that loud (which it definantly can) throw it in a sealed box. I have mine 1.5 cu. ft. per sub. This is the maximum recommended size by JL Audio. I had mine in about 1 cu. ft. per sub before and the bass was a little more punchy and not quite as low. That is the main difference between the 10" and 12"...the 12" will be a little lower. Some say the 10" will be a little more accurate...but I disagree. I have yet to find a song that this sub cannot keep up with. If you aren't looking for major BOOM, and you want a cheap but good amplifier. Id say go with the JBL 300.1. It will underpower it a little bit...but you definantly wont be disapointed. IF you want a little louder...go with the JBL 600.1, the sub can handle that much power. Trust me....you will not be disappointed if you choose this sub. If i were you id go with the 12...for the deeper bass and will play the lower tones a little better. Since you already have 5.25's you don't need a sub to produce your midbass....so why go with a 10" sub? Go with the 12. Got any more questions...drop me a pm or an email....
