If none of the above works you could split loom the wire and tuck it up under your car away from stuff that tends to get hot.........

This is what I do now.. Use a loom, zip-tie it to a brake line or something (preferably not a fuel line //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif) and run it through the trunk. Most painless way of having a clean install.
