How important is the high voltage pre outs for just a subwoofer?

I am getting a new HU soon. I am looking at the Double Din Kenwood units with built in bluetooth. Dont need navigation. Want good Sound quality.

The units I am looking at are these

kenwood DDX814

The pre-amp outputs are 2V for teh 714 and 4V for the 814. I plan to run my fronts and rears off the head unit. And just the sub from the pre out. In my case is the high voltage outputs going to make a substantial difference??

The other main difference is the 13 band eq.

just get a eq that has a pre amp output voltage increase and use that

Yea the phrase "sound quality" is relative to who speaks it.

I know the higher voltage outputs give better noise immunity and gives you a higher headroom for amplifier gain settings.

But I guess my question is with just a sub with a big enough amp couldn't you just turn up the gain with minimal differences? Or am I missing something?

i don't think preamp is THAT important but i hear that as long as you have more than 2 then you're all set if you never go with something that hits really hard. if you want something that hits harder in subs or somethin i think you should probably get something with atleast 4 preamp. safest bet is 4 pre amp. it just puts lets strain on your amp.

OK so if I say SQ is 6 18s off of 20K watts, one set of 5.5 inch coaxials off the head unit, with blurry vocals and instrumentals and lots of distortion is it true then just because I have 'spoken it'?
