How hard is it to take out rear seats in an 01 Ranger?

I want to do it that way I will have a lil more room behind my seat so I will be able to recline back some if I would like to. Does anyone know if its hard to take them out? Or is it just simple?

Thats what I figured. Maybe I wont have to take out the box. Perhaps ill just slide the box forward a lil.

Its alot easier said than done. I went out there and got all of the regular bolts out. But then I got to the ones that hold in the seat belts. Which have a star shaped pattern to it. I dont have a screwedriver or anything of the sort.

That's a torx head bolt. go to your local hardware store and ask for a T-55. Or maybe it's a T-50 I don't remember but I'm almost positive its the 55. I'd get one for a 3/8 ratchet because they're put on tight and you need a lot of leverage to get em off. And don't try and use an allen key cuz it will just strip it right out and then your FAWKED

i beleive it was a 55 as well in my truck ('00 B3000, same as an '00 Ranger 3.0l)

also, do you already have the jack removed? if not that will be a PITA. i store my jack under the drivers seat now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

and you will need a good 1ft or more rachet to break thoes torx bolts loose, they are the hardest ones. Had to of been torqued to 100 lb/ft from the factory.

WHen I took mine out I ran into the same problem with the funny screws I just used some plyers and worked it out very slowly it took a while but i got it done.

It seems like that bolt for the seatbelt is T40. I ran into the same problem and broke two big T40 heads trying to get just one of the seatbelt bolts off. I gave up after that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Update!

I finally got those stupid seats out. And I have moved the box back. It made a big difference on leg room.

leg room, pffft, im 5'5'' 145lbs off Cross Country season...you could put me in a lotus elise and i would call it roomy.
